Cavapoos: Watchdogs or Watch Dogs?

Hello fellow Cavapoo lovers!

You and I can emphatically say that our dogs aren't Watchdogs.

Oh, they'll race to the door and bark as though a visitor would be insane to cross over into his territory.

But, if your Cavapoo is like mine, with each thundering bark he'll take a step backward - suggesting that his ferociousness is just a show!

That leads me to our thought for this month. Are Cavapoos Watchdogs or Watch Dogs?

Well, we know the answer. They are standout "Watch Dogs," loving to entertain, even when they're in forward motion toward a guest at the door.

But why are Cavapoos so intent in putting on a show for us? Why do they want us to watch them?

Consider a couple of reasons with me.

  1. They want us to watch them because of their social nature. Although they sound like they'd rip off a stranger's leg, they're actually social butterflies. They're among the most loving dogs in the canine family. Cavapoos are velcro dogs and are committed to being the shadow of their owners.
  2. They want us to watch them due to their entertaining nature. Putting on a show is in their blood. Whether it's chasing a thrown toy and retrieving it before it hits the floor or doing the "moonwalk" when the doorbell goes off, Cavapoos want our eyes on them.

What's the lesson for us?

Simply this: our amazing pups are daily messaging us to take a break from the rugged, serious tone of the world and enjoy some fun time - watching them!

I also want to encourage you to sign up for my companion newsletter "The Encouragement Express" on my website howellbigham.com. It's also free and I'd be indebted to you if you'd share it on your social media channels and tell your friends about it.

Thanks for reading! Until next month, continue loving your "Watch Dog!"
